The power lies within..

How is it possible that a woman who was blind and deaf from the age of 1 1/2 can be so full of encouragement and love of life? How is it that we who don't suffer her afflictions don't see life in as positive a light as she did? the reason lies here. as she said once: I've never underestimated myself, she says with a smile

Keller discovered early on that there were limits to what she would be permitted to do. Growing up blind and deaf in Alabama she says, "I always ran into boundaries, I believe that all through these dark and silent years God has been using my life for a purpose, something tells me that I am going to succeed beyond all my dreams."

It might seem odd that a woman whose climb to power was so arduous should contemplate giving away even a smidgen of it. But where she differs from most other leaders is her perception that true leadership involves the surrender of power and that happiness comes from working with others.

Helen Keller:

As Keller's biography tells us, she was an active figure in her time. She is world wide known as an author, writer, political speaker and opposition leader in early nineteen century. as a result of this, i can imagine her work space to be a place for her to expand her ideologies and believes, for her to prepare speeches and to meet with her followers. a gathering place along with personal space for her to write. At same time, urban environment matches Keller needs as she was Politically and socially active. 

Angela Merkel:

Angela background best suits urban environement where she would possibiliby be close to what she needs. Angela working as a politician, require a working environment with meeting place but at same time to be close to city.

This has made me decide to choose Urban environment for this project.

Angela Merkel is the current chancellor of Germany who has been the chairman of the Christian Democratic Union. Merkel has been participated in many political and social affairs namely, leading social coalition and sister party and a member of council of women world leaders. She has received the Charlemagne Prize "for her work to reform the European Union" and has topped “The World's 100 Most Powerful Women” list for five years.

Helen Keller:

Helen Keller was an American author, political activist and lecturer. She was the first deaf blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. A prolific author, Keller was well travelled and was outspoken in her opposition to war. She campaigned for women's suffrage, workers' rights, and socialism, as well as many other progressive causes.

The black box

This is the slide from black box, work of an artist. i chose this image because the shadow is used to distinguish each part as close or far. the shadow casting separate sections from one to another. i find this work similar to my work since i have lighten the background building in order to distinguish it from the 9 axonometric prism at the front. the axonometric is dark and the background city is lighten.

The meeting place is a small garden located at the spare space around the 9 axonometric structure.

kuepper lab has entrance toward forest. she can get to the mating place (the garden) by a slow ramp which is again due to the land form.






the building at the front is the 9 axonometric triangular prism, with Hawking lab at the top right and Kuepper lab at the bottom left of the structure. the lower level or terrain is emerged in forest whereas in the top terrain there is small city.

hawking lab is directed toward the city, where its door is toward city with a view on the forest, at lower terrain. Hawking can get to the meeting place (the garden) by the ramp which is the result of land formation connecting the upper terrain to the lower terrain.
